LACEY, Washington -- Bob Helstrom, CEO and Board Chairman, announces the promotion of Spud Downie to President of ReachONE Internet. Downie has been VP and General Manager of Custom Security, also owned by Mr. Helstrom for the past eight years. Downie began with Custom seventeen years ago, coming up through the ranks and has moved gradually into the Internet division since it's inception in 1997. "The Internet business has basically grown through acquisition to a point that we now have twenty-five employees and requires my full attention" said Downie.
ReachONE primarily operates in seven southwest Washington counties, although they have thousands of nationwide dial-up numbers. "Our focus has been to follow our alarm business model and offer the best products and services in our own backyard, said Downie. "Operating out of a UL Listed 24 hour Central Station allows us to offer redundant power, phone connections and backbone connections that most companies can't afford to offer, which means we have faster connections and less down time for our customers. ReachONE offers all Internet services including basic dial-up, DSL, frame relays, full T1's, web hosting, web design, and bridging remote business offices together. Basically, we can meet all business Information Technology needs except wiring and we can arrange for that," said Downie.
Acquisitions over the past fives years include: Turbo Tek, Connect Corp, and Connect Del-Sol of Olympia, South Puget Sound Online of Yelm, OrcaLink of Lacey, NorthWest-Tekk of Shelton, World Star and NW Rain of University Place, OlyNet of Montesano and WillapaBay.org of Pacific County. "Most of our sustained growth has come from referral business, however we will continue to expand through acquisition as we find companies that fit our model," said Downie. |
