KOSHER
Kosher in Hebrew literally means “fit” or “acceptable.” When
referring to food, it indicates that the food conforms to Jewish laws. One
of many myths about “kosher” is that the process consists simply of a Rabbi
blessing food. In fact for centuries, the belief in Kashrus (kosher law) has
linked and unified Jews throughout the world. A strict and immutable body of
laws that clearly delineates those foods that conform to rigid dietary
specifications. Kashrus also proscribes which and how animals, fish and
birds should be prepared for kosher consumption, cites methods of
preparation and processing.
Many consumers consider kosher certification as an additional assurance that
the product is of a higher quality, natural, and being manufactured with the
highest level of sanitary conditions.
“East Point” Salmon Caviar is certified as Kosher by KOF-K.
For over 30 years, KOF-K Kosher Supervision, an organization of Orthodox
Rabbis, has provided the food industry with a benchmark of excellence. Only
those products and services that meet the stringent standards of the
organization are permitted to display KOF-K symbol. KOF-K also certifies
products manufactured by Acme Smoked Fish (NY), Ghirardelli Chocolate Co.
(CA), Ben & Jerry (VT), Pepsi-Cola (NY), Sara Lee (NC), Sea Chef (Israel),
Celanese GMBH (Germany), Pesquera El Golfo, S.A. (Chile), Niza-Deheza S.A.
(Argentina), etc.
